According to a New York Times report, Broadway was hit hard due to the Covid-19 pandemic while the country was under lockdown.

Even though the lockdown is over, many viewers still haven’t returned.

Like many other shows, Phantom of the Opera failed to sell enough tickets, which made maintaining the show quite difficult for the showrunners.

In January 2023, the iconic show will celebrate its 35th anniversary and on February 18, it will see its final show.
