SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — Camp Richardson Historic Resort, an icon on the southwest shore of Lake Tahoe for more than 100 years, has opened online booking for tent and RV reservations at the resort.

The historic hotel, a two-story property featuring 26 lodge rooms decorated in “Old Tahoe” charm, and Beachside Inn will also come online later this month. Resort chalet accommodations are available through the accommodation request form and phone reservations at https://www.camprichardson.com/rv-village/ or https://www.camprichardson.com/tent-camping/.

Families have visited Camp Richardson since the 1920s, admiring the vast landscape of the Sierra and Lake Tahoe. The all-weather lakeside resort is known for its charming, rustic accommodations and recreational access that make it a popular family retreat. The opening day for accommodation reservations each year is in October and November. Online reservations for tent camping are currently available through October 3 and November 11 for RV sites.

“This is a change in our operations that we have been working diligently on for a long time,” said Kris Knox, general manager of Camp Richardson. “We understand that the resort is a beloved and cherished tradition for many families. What makes Camp Richardson special, beyond our lakeside location, is its history. With online bookings, we hope more families will experience the resort and make it part of their family traditions.

The resort’s mountain sports center, which rents bikes in the summer, is scheduled to open May 13 in preparation for Memorial Day weekend, the traditional start of summer in Tahoe. The Ice Cream Parlor, known for its giant scoops, will open weekends from May 21.

The popular lakeside Beacon Bar & Grill offers a relaxing indoor and outdoor lunch and dinner experience with stunning views of Lake Tahoe. Beacon’s famous Rum Runner, originally from here, is Lake Tahoe’s traditional summer drink. Live music will also return to the Beacon this summer starting on Memorial Day weekend.
