Keydell Nurseries closes online booking for Woodland Walk after computer glitch saw people charged up to £1,000

The Woodland Walk at Keydell Garden Center is a festive event, attracting thousands of people in November and December each year. Tickets went on sale at 9am today.

It says: “We are just closing the website link for tickets while we sort out the current issues with ticket buyers.

“We apologize for this, but this is a matter beyond our control due to the overload of buyers and the ticket company not meeting demand.

“We are also in contact with the ticketing company regarding the impact this has caused.

‘Please send your email address used so that we can sort bookings as quickly as possible.

‘Thank you for your understanding.’

The garden center telephone line is diverted to voicemail.

Angry ticket buyers wrote hundreds of comments on the garden centre’s Facebook page, with some claiming £900 was debited from their account.

There are many complaints that the screen froze and timed people out. They then try again, but payments were taken for each attempt.

However, one customer reported that after going to the garden center the issue was resolved immediately.

The walk costs £6.50 for an adult or child, with children under 1 free. A group of four costs £22.50 and a group of six costs £33.50.
